Zohran Mamdani, I Suppose, and the origins of power
We all think that we need to fall in line with the power that stands above us, one level further. We must await command from the higher ranks. The power sits at the top and, therefore, that guidance, direction, and permission comes from the top.
We all think that, or at least, we socially demonstrate it, whether subconscious or not.
But, actually power doesn’t come from the top, it comes from the bottom.
People at the top want to convince you that it comes from the top because it then you’re more willing to listen, to accept, and to capitulate and cede to what they desire.
But power comes from the bottom. Power is where people's attention is. Power is where people put power. Because at the end of the day, for you to have and hold power, you have to have people supporting you. If you don’t, you will hold on only a short time.
If suddenly there are no more customers of iPhones, Apple loses all of its power. Know what I mean? It will have no more power. Where would its power come from? If everyone deletes Instagram and Facebook, Meta has no more power. Do you get me? You are their power. Domination of a market is their power. But domination of a market means control over the consumer base. You are the consumer base, for everything, which means if we stop participating, they lose all control. Which means that the power does come from the bottom.
And we're all told to fall in line all the way up to the top because we're misled into thinking that that's where power comes from.
So, I hope people can realize that you don't have to fall in line all the way up. You just have to be the thing that people prefer. No one at the top is speaking to the people, to the masses, to the populous. No one. No Democratic nor Republican politician.
The power comes form the bottom. People, the people, the American people, united? Organize the people for a version of government and of institutions that functions for us all. We can all have enough. It just means that a few people don’t get to have overwhelmingly more. There is enough for all, just not when a few decide to hoard.
The well being of humanity really does rest on their shoulders. They have enough money and materiel to solve our national and global problems. They could do it. Imagine how much they would be loved then? I always wonder why they don’t. They always feels like very sad people who have always wanted to be loved by the world. They look for it in showmanship and grandiosity. But they would find it in abundance with charity, empathy, and generosity.
Anyway, I think that’s why I and so many others, within and well outside of New York City love Zohran Mamdani so much. He really is the embodiment of not falling in line to the powers above and realizing the overwhelming power the people and the real origins of power, the bottom. And he speaks to a generation desperate for change and tired of blantant lies.
That’s what I’m thinking about. What are you thinking about? What did you think about this?
